How user identification through email click works

You already have users with emails imported via CSV in your User.com database. How do you start tracking them with our widget?

Introduction

Our widget tracks users based on a cookie added to their browser. Thanks to this, we can see the entire history of their visits to the website and collect information about their exact interactions with your website.

However, what to do when you have just imported users with e-mail addresses to your User.com application, but our widget did not have the opportunity to track their cookies?

A useful way is to send these users an email with a link that will allow our widget to continue following them on your website.

Send an email with a link to your website

It's very simple. All you have to do is to send an e-mail to your user base (whose cookies we do not have yet) with a link to your website, where user.com code is implemented.

Our system will automatically add the parameter in the URL: /?__ca__chat=. For example, it could look like that:

https://your-website.com/?__ca__chat=aGt3ghY

After user clicks on his automatically generated link (each user will have different value as __ca__chat), this receiver key value, from this example: aGt3ghY, would be now added to your user's profile as the "key" attribute. Thanks to that, from now on, the user's behaviour on your website now will be tracked. :)
